CM Fadnavis details new infrastructure and cities for Mumbai.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced major infrastructure projects to transform the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Speaking at a CREDAI-MCHI event, he confirmed the Versova-Bandra Sea Link is 60% complete and on track for a two-year finish. The sea link will be extended to Dahisar and Bhayander, creating a crucial parallel route to the Western Expressway.
Fadnavis also unveiled plans for two new cities: "Third Mumbai" and "Fourth Mumbai." Third Mumbai, located near Navi Mumbai, will be an edutech and innovation hub with a 300-acre education city and centers for foreign universities. Fourth Mumbai, in the northern MMR, is poised to become a major logistical hub, anchored by the upcoming Vadhavan Port and a bullet train station. The government is inviting private builders to participate in the development of these new urban centres.
