Refex Green Power Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Refex Renewables & Infrastructure Ltd, has secured a Letter of Award from state-run SJVN Ltd for the development of an 80-MW wind power project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
The project was awarded through a competitive bidding process, with the Letter of Award dated September 4. Refex Green Power will be responsible for developing the complete 80-MW wind power capacity under the domestic framework.
Under the proposed arrangement, SJVN will enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Refex Green Power or a special purpose vehicle established for the project.
Electricity generated by the wind project will be supplied at a discovered tariff of ₹3.88 per kWh. The long-term PPA provides a framework for supplying renewable electricity to the grid over the 25-year agreement period.
Unlike a conventional fixed-price Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract, the project does not carry a specified lump-sum contract value. Instead, revenue will be generated over the PPA period based on the volume of electricity supplied to the grid at the agreed tariff.
Refex Renewables & Infrastructure said that full-capacity power supply from the project is scheduled to commence within 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.
The 80-MW project will expand Refex Green Power’s renewable energy portfolio while contributing additional wind energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh. The development also highlights continued investment in utility-scale renewable energy projects supported by long-term power purchase agreements in India.
