ACME Solar Signs 25-Year PPA with SECI for 300 MW FDRE Renewable Energy Project

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited for a 300 MW/1,200 MWh firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project.

The agreement was executed through ACME Solar’s subsidiary, ACME Renewtech Sixth Private Limited, marking another significant step in the company’s expansion within India’s dispatchable clean energy segment.

The inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected project is designed to provide four hours of assured peak power supply during non-solar hours, supporting grid stability and improving renewable energy reliability during evening and night-time demand periods.

The project will utilise ACME Solar’s existing night-time transmission connectivity at high solar irradiation locations, enabling efficient integration of renewable generation with energy storage and dispatchable supply capabilities.

Under the agreement terms, the project carries a minimum annual availability requirement of 85%, reflecting the increasing emphasis on dependable renewable power delivery rather than intermittent generation alone.

The project was awarded under SECI FDRE Tranche-VII through tariff-based competitive bidding. The e-reverse auction for the tender was conducted on February 2, 2026, while the Letter of Award was issued on February 10, 2026.

Firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects are emerging as a key component of India’s evolving clean energy strategy, helping address variability challenges associated with solar and wind generation while supporting round-the-clock power availability.

Following the signing of this agreement, ACME Solar’s total PPA-signed capacity has increased to 6,570 MW out of its overall contracted renewable energy portfolio of 8,070 MW.

The development further strengthens the company’s position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market, particularly in hybrid, storage-linked, and dispatchable clean energy solutions.

Industry analysts note that projects such as FDRE are expected to play a crucial role in supporting India’s long-term renewable integration goals as the country moves toward higher penetration of non-fossil fuel energy sources.
