Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited has announced comprehensive relief measures for the families affected by the landfill collapse at its Pimpri Chinchwad Waste-to-Energy plant in Pune.

The rain-triggered incident occurred on July 8 and claimed the lives of nine employees. Following the tragedy, the company announced financial assistance of ₹25 lakh for each bereaved family through a combination of ex-gratia support and insurance benefits.

Antony Waste will also bear the medical treatment and counselling expenses of injured employees. The company has committed to covering funeral costs and providing employment to one eligible immediate family member of each deceased employee.

In addition, the company will fund the education of the minor children of employees who lost their lives, providing long-term support to the affected families.

Operations at the Waste-to-Energy plant have been temporarily suspended while safety inspections and assessments are conducted. However, municipal waste collection and transportation services are continuing without disruption.

Antony Waste stated that its facilities are insured and that the overall financial impact of the incident is currently being evaluated. The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting employees and their families during this difficult period.
