Avaada Group Targets 5 GW Renewable Energy Capacity Addition in FY27

Avaada Group has announced plans to add 5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity during FY27, reinforcing its commitment to India's clean energy transition and long-term sustainability goals.

According to Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, the company has already secured the necessary power purchase agreements (PPAs) and grid connectivity approvals for the upcoming projects, providing a strong foundation for the planned expansion.

The renewable energy developer added 2 GW of capacity during the previous financial year. However, an additional 1–2 GW that was originally planned for FY26 was deferred due to delays in power purchase agreement execution and transmission infrastructure readiness.

With the planned 5 GW addition in FY27, comprising solar power projects, wind energy installations, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), Avaada's total operational renewable energy portfolio is expected to reach 12 GW by March 2027.

The upcoming projects will be developed across key renewable energy markets including Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, states that continue to attract significant investments in clean energy infrastructure due to favorable policies, resource availability, and strong demand.

Avaada has outlined an ambitious long-term vision of achieving 30 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning itself among India's leading clean energy companies.

In addition to project development, the company is significantly strengthening its manufacturing capabilities. Avaada is currently establishing a large-scale integrated solar manufacturing facility, referred to as a "super factory," at Butibori in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The facility will manufacture the complete solar value chain under one roof, including ingots, wafers, solar cells, and modules. This integrated approach is expected to reduce dependence on imported components, improve supply chain resilience, and support India's objective of becoming self-reliant in solar manufacturing.

The expansion of both renewable energy generation and domestic manufacturing aligns with India's broader goals of increasing renewable energy capacity, enhancing energy security, and promoting local manufacturing under the country's clean energy initiatives.

As demand for clean power continues to grow across industries and utilities, Avaada's planned investments are expected to contribute significantly to India's renewable energy capacity expansion while supporting the nation's net-zero ambitions.
