GACL and CleanMax Partner for 160 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project in Gujarat

Gujarat: Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) has partnered with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited to develop a 160.24 MW hybrid renewable energy project that will supply 100% green electricity to the company's manufacturing facilities in Dahej and Vadodara.

The group captive project combines 75.90 MW of wind power with 84.34 MWp of solar capacity, reinforcing both companies' commitment to sustainable industrial operations and clean energy adoption.

The renewable energy project will be developed across four locations in Gujarat—Kalikanagar, Aji Dahisarda, Rajula and Ghuntu. Once operational, it is expected to generate approximately 36.9 crore units of clean electricity annually, significantly reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

According to project estimates, the hybrid renewable energy facility will help reduce around 2.64 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year, delivering an environmental impact comparable to planting approximately 15.27 million trees.

The project will be executed in two phases, ensuring a structured rollout of both wind and solar installations while supporting uninterrupted renewable power supply to GACL's industrial operations.

The agreement also represents CleanMax's largest group captive renewable energy project to date, highlighting the growing adoption of hybrid renewable solutions by energy-intensive industries in Gujarat.

As industries increasingly transition towards sustainable manufacturing practices, projects of this scale are expected to play a vital role in reducing carbon footprints, improving energy security and supporting India's renewable energy and decarbonisation goals.
