Jharkhand to Showcase Energy Transition Model at Davos, UK Events

The Jharkhand government will showcase its energy transition model at leading global platforms during an overseas visit by a state delegation led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren to Davos and the United Kingdom, according to an official statement.

Chief Minister Soren is scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos later this month, following which the delegation will travel to the UK to strengthen international partnerships. At Davos, Jharkhand will engage with global energy leaders, investors, technology providers and policy institutions to highlight investment opportunities across renewable energy, grid modernisation, energy storage, clean fuels and industrial decarbonisation.

The state’s energy transition strategy is built around responsible diversification, combining Jharkhand’s traditional energy strengths with accelerated investments in solar power and emerging clean technologies. Anchored in the philosophy of “Growth in Harmony with Nature,” the model emphasises a just and inclusive transition, with a strong focus on worker reskilling and community participation.

Jharkhand will also highlight its strategic importance in the supply of critical minerals essential for the clean energy transition. Following the Davos meetings, engagements in the United Kingdom will focus on clean energy finance, technology transfer and capacity-building initiatives to support the state’s long-term sustainability goals.
