New facility boosts total capacity to 11.1 GW, strengthens India’s solar manufacturing base.
Premier Energies, an integrated renewable energy manufacturer, has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, with trial production currently underway.
With this addition, the company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, marking a significant step in expanding India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
Spread across 75 acres, the new facility is expected to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to regional industrial development and employment generation.
The plant is equipped with fully automated production lines capable of manufacturing advanced G12R TOPCon solar modules at a rapid pace of four modules every 16 seconds, highlighting the company’s focus on efficiency and cutting-edge technology.
Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja stated that the expansion strengthens the company’s ability to deliver high-efficiency solar solutions at scale while supporting India’s transition towards clean energy.
Chief Strategy Officer Sudhir Reddy added that continued investments in advanced manufacturing technologies will improve supply chain resilience and help meet the growing global demand for efficient and reliable solar modules.
The commissioning of this facility reinforces India’s position as a growing hub for renewable energy manufacturing and aligns with the country’s broader sustainability and energy security goals.
