REnergy Dynamics has secured two waste-to-compressed biogas (CBG) projects from Refex Renewables, strengthening its position in India’s growing bioenergy and sustainable waste management sector.
The projects include a 12.5 tonnes-per-day compressed biogas facility in Coimbatore and a 10 tonnes-per-day plant in Salem. Both projects will convert the organic fraction of municipal solid waste into clean bioenergy using advanced two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion technology integrated with continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) systems.
Under the agreement, REnergy Dynamics will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities, along with one year of operations and maintenance support to ensure efficient and stable plant performance after commissioning.
Together, the facilities are expected to process nearly 550 tonnes of municipal waste daily, helping reduce landfill dependency and supporting more sustainable urban waste management practices. The projects are also projected to displace approximately 2.9 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually by capturing methane emissions and converting them into renewable compressed biogas fuel.
Kushagra Nandan described the contracts as a significant milestone for the company’s expansion in the waste-to-energy segment. Meanwhile, Kalpesh Kumar said the partnership reflects a shared commitment towards scalable and high-impact clean energy and waste management solutions.
The projects align with India’s broader sustainability and circular economy goals, where compressed biogas is emerging as an important clean fuel alternative capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving waste utilisation, and strengthening domestic renewable energy production.
Industry experts believe advanced waste-to-energy infrastructure will play a key role in addressing urban waste challenges while contributing to India’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.
