SAEL Industries has commissioned 600 MW of solar power capacity in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, marking one of the first major renewable energy projects completed under the state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024.
The ₹3,000-crore investment comprises two 300 MW AC solar power plants located in Kurnool district. According to the company, both projects were completed within a record timeline of 11 months, highlighting rapid execution under Andhra Pradesh’s evolving renewable energy framework.
The solar plants will supply clean electricity to the national grid under long-term 25-year power purchase agreements signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India.
Spread across approximately 2,400 acres, the projects are expected to offset nearly 11 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, contributing to India’s broader decarbonisation and clean energy targets.
SAEL deployed more than 12 lakh advanced TOPCon bifacial solar modules for the projects. The majority of these modules were manufactured at the company’s domestic production facilities located in Punjab and Rajasthan, supporting India’s push for localised solar manufacturing and supply chain development.
The projects were inaugurated in the presence of Nara Lokesh and Gottipati Ravi Kumar.
N Chandrababu Naidu said the projects demonstrate Andhra Pradesh’s ability to deliver large-scale clean energy infrastructure with speed, efficiency, and investor confidence.
Industry experts view the development as a significant milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy ambitions, particularly as states compete to attract large investments in solar, wind, storage, and integrated clean energy infrastructure.
The commissioning also reinforces the growing role of advanced TOPCon technology and domestically manufactured solar components in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy ecosystem.
