Suzlon Wins 100 MW Wind Power Order from GAIL in Maharashtra

Suzlon Group has secured a 100 MW wind energy order from GAIL, further strengthening its presence in the public sector renewable energy segment. The project will be developed in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra and will supply clean electricity to GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant, helping the company move toward its decarbonisation targets.

As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply 47 S120 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The company will execute the project on a turnkey basis, which includes supply, installation, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance services. The project is expected to contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions while ensuring reliable power supply for industrial use.

This order marks Suzlon’s sixth project with GAIL and the first collaboration between the two companies in Maharashtra. Earlier projects between Suzlon and GAIL were located in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The new order further strengthens Suzlon’s position as a key renewable energy partner for public sector undertakings.

The contract is also Suzlon’s fourth order from a public sector organisation in the current financial year, following earlier wins from NTPC Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. These repeated orders highlight the growing trust of government and PSU clients in Suzlon’s wind energy solutions.

Public sector undertakings and commercial & industrial customers together now account for more than 64 percent of Suzlon’s total order book. With this latest project, the company continues to expand its leadership in Maharashtra’s wind energy market while supporting India’s clean energy transition and industrial decarbonisation efforts.
