Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Tata Power Solar Rooftop, a division of Tata Power and part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has launched the ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign in Uttar Pradesh to accelerate rooftop solar adoption across the state.
The initiative was unveiled in Lucknow alongside Tata Power Battery Storage and aims to provide households with reliable, affordable, and round-the-clock clean energy solutions by integrating rooftop solar systems with battery storage and easy financing options.
As part of the campaign, the company plans to install three lakh rooftop solar systems across Uttar Pradesh over the next three years. The installations are expected to contribute a cumulative rooftop solar capacity of 1,000 MWp, significantly strengthening the state's clean energy ecosystem.
Speaking at the launch, Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Power, highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growing importance in India's renewable energy transition.
"Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing rooftop solar markets in India, driven by strong policy support, increasing consumer awareness, and rising demand for sustainable energy solutions," he said.
The campaign aligns with India's broader renewable energy goals and seeks to make clean energy more accessible for residential consumers by combining advanced solar technology, battery storage systems, and flexible financing options.
One of the key attractions for homeowners is the availability of substantial government incentives. Uttar Pradesh currently offers some of the highest rooftop solar subsidies in the country. Under a combination of central and state government schemes, households installing rooftop solar systems of up to 3 kW can avail benefits of up to ₹1.08 lakh.
The integration of battery storage solutions is expected to enhance energy reliability by enabling households to store excess solar power generated during the day for use during evenings, peak demand periods, or grid outages.
The ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign is expected to contribute significantly to reducing electricity costs for households while promoting energy independence and reducing carbon emissions. The initiative also supports the government's efforts to increase distributed renewable energy generation and strengthen India's transition toward a sustainable energy future.
With Uttar Pradesh emerging as a key market for residential solar adoption, Tata Power aims to leverage the state's favorable policy environment and growing consumer interest to accelerate rooftop solar deployment and expand access to clean energy solutions.
