The ongoing Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 in Lucknow has emerged as a major platform for advancing discussions around solar adoption, clean energy infrastructure and AI-driven power management systems in the state.

The three-day event is jointly organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UP chapter) and FirstVIEW in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency, Invest UP and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.

Industry leaders, policymakers and clean-tech companies discussed strategies to accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s transition toward renewable energy, with a strong focus on rooftop solar systems, utility-scale solar parks, agrivoltaics and integrated smart energy platforms.

Key sessions at the expo explored financing mechanisms for large solar parks, expansion of rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and the integration of solar energy with agriculture through the PM-KUSUM initiative.

Abhilash Borana, CEO of Sigenergy India, highlighted how solar energy, battery storage, artificial intelligence and EV charging infrastructure are increasingly converging into unified smart energy ecosystems. Varun Gulati emphasised that clean energy adoption is no longer a future aspiration but an immediate necessity for sustainable growth.

The expo attracted nearly 7,000 visitors, reflecting growing public and industry interest in sustainable technologies and renewable energy solutions across Uttar Pradesh. The event also underlined the state’s ambition to position itself as a major clean energy and solar manufacturing hub in India.
