UP Accelerates Green Energy Push, Eco-Friendly Industries: Minister Nandi

Uttar Pradesh is making steady progress towards green energy adoption and eco-friendly industrial development, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ said at the 5th Green Energy and Sustainability Conclave organised by ASSOCHAM on Friday.

The minister stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a key destination for investment and industrial growth. He highlighted that the state government’s new solar policy has played a crucial role in strengthening the renewable energy ecosystem by offering a range of investor-friendly incentives.

Among the key measures, Nandi cited a 100 per cent stamp duty exemption for solar power projects and a complete waiver on electricity charges for a period of 10 years. These policy initiatives, he said, have significantly boosted investor confidence and attracted large-scale investments in the green energy sector.

Emphasising the state’s commitment to sustainable industrialisation, Nandi said the double-engine government is focused on providing end-to-end support to investors and entrepreneurs, ensuring a conducive ecosystem for eco-friendly industries. He also noted that Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from a pre-2017 era of corruption to a model investment state, with upcoming projects worth nearly ₹16 lakh crore underscoring the tangible progress achieved in recent years.
