Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has said that India is making significant progress in manufacturing, innovation, green energy and sustainable mobility under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the launch of Telangana-based KETO Motors’ first commercial electric bus, Reddy described the achievement as an important milestone for India’s indigenous manufacturing sector and its vision of building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
He said electric mobility is more than an alternative form of transportation. It can strengthen energy security, reduce air pollution, lower dependence on imported fuels and promote technological self-reliance.
The minister reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to developing a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem by supporting domestic vehicle and battery manufacturing, expanding charging infrastructure and encouraging research and innovation.
He also highlighted the importance of developing skilled professionals to meet the growing requirements of India’s electric mobility industry.
Reddy praised Telangana-based companies for contributing to the country’s electric vehicle revolution through indigenous technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
According to the minister, such initiatives will help modernise public transportation, generate employment opportunities and support sustainable economic growth across India.
