Rajasthan has emerged as India’s leading state under the PM-KUSUM scheme for decentralised solar power capacity while securing the third position nationally in standalone solar pump installations.

According to information presented in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, Rajasthan has commissioned more than 1,236 MW of decentralised solar power capacity under Component A since 2021–22, the highest among all states.

During the first quarter of the 2026–27 financial year, Rajasthan added 500.09 MW of capacity under Component A. This represented nearly 74% of the total new capacity commissioned across the country during the period.

Under Component B of the scheme, Rajasthan installed 1,27,639 standalone solar-powered agricultural pumps between 2020–21 and June 2026. The state ranked third in India, behind Maharashtra and Haryana.

Rajasthan has also recorded strong progress under Component C, which focuses on the solarisation of existing grid-connected agricultural pumps. The state solarised approximately 1.68 lakh agricultural pumps during 2025–26 and another 29,887 pumps in the current financial year.

The achievements highlight Rajasthan’s growing leadership in agricultural solarisation and decentralised renewable energy. The PM-KUSUM scheme is helping farmers reduce dependence on conventional electricity, lower irrigation costs and adopt cleaner energy solutions.
