Jupiter International has commenced construction of a ₹3,000 crore solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Nagpur, strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

The proposed plant will have an annual production capacity of 3 GW and is expected to become operational in phases over the next 20 months. The facility will support the domestic production of essential solar components and reduce India’s dependence on imported wafers.

Jupiter currently imports solar wafers from China, making the Nagpur facility an important step towards import substitution and the development of a more resilient domestic solar supply chain.

The company has been manufacturing solar cells since 2009 and has expanded its production capacity from 30 MW to 4.5 GW across five manufacturing units located in Himachal Pradesh and Odisha.

Jupiter International expects to achieve a turnover of approximately ₹3,200 crore during the current fiscal year. Supported by increasing demand under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the company also plans to collaborate with domestic solar module manufacturers.

The company is additionally targeting an initial public offering in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions.
