Suzlon Energy announced that it has secured repeat wind turbine orders totaling 306 MW from renewable energy company Yanara for projects in Barmer district, Rajasthan, strengthening its leadership position in the state’s wind energy market.
The orders comprise two separate contracts of 153 MW each, marking the second set of orders from Yanara within a year. Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 102 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW, for Yanara’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects. The turbines will be mounted on hybrid lattice towers designed to operate efficiently under high ambient temperature conditions.
Suzlon currently commands a 44% share of Rajasthan’s 5.2 GW installed wind capacity and has over 2.3 GW already operational in the state. Additionally, the company is executing EPC wind projects aggregating 791 MW across Rajasthan, further consolidating its market dominance.
Power generated from the Barmer projects will partially meet Yanara’s power purchase obligations with utilities including NTPC and NHPC, contributing to reliable, dispatchable renewable energy supply in the region.
This repeat order underscores Suzlon’s strong execution capability, local presence, and technical expertise in India’s rapidly growing wind power sector, particularly in Rajasthan’s high-potential wind corridors.
