Waaree Renewable Enters ANZ Market with Landmark Solar-BESS Project

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd, has signed an Early Contractor Involvement agreement to develop a utility-scale solar photovoltaic project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System in New Zealand.

The agreement has been signed with a special purpose vehicle of a global independent power producer and marks Waaree Renewable’s entry into the Australia and New Zealand renewable energy market.

The project will be executed by a consortium comprising WRTL and two local partners. Waaree will lead the solar engineering and supply scope, while the local partners will support the project’s regional development and execution requirements.

Following the completion of the ECI phase, the consortium may be awarded the complete engineering, procurement and construction contract for the integrated solar and battery storage facility.

Expected to become one of New Zealand’s largest solar projects, the facility will help strengthen grid reliability, improve energy resilience and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy across the country.

The agreement reflects Waaree’s expanding international presence and its commitment to delivering advanced, reliable and sustainable clean energy solutions in global markets.
